Freeform Elements
My freeform pillow design inspired me to crochet new,
traditional, and modified stitches. I created multiple embellished surfaces and
multilevel techniques. I also created overlays and underlays of crystal bead
motifs to add dimension to my elements.
The circular theme of my pillow is shaped by
yarn, colors, and crochet stitches I selected. To select the colors of
my cotton yarn, I used a random color computer program and to select my crochet
stitches, I also used a random alphabet computer program. I matched my crystal
bead and crystal button choices to harmonize my design.

Poem: Art Nouveau in its Freeform Modern Style
Harmony in curves and hues
crocheted with fine cotton thread
plant-like in their floral forms
all curvatures aligned in asymmetry.
Circular shapes and arches of color
joined in red, gold, lilac, and black
plus, purple, peach, green, and blues
with various motifs in their décor.
My inspiration stems from spring wildflowers and floral trees. Freeform crochet and bead weaving encompass my artwork. Thank you to our kittens for just observing!

A moonlit night inspired my project, and each building’s design was unplanned and unique. Freeform crochet and bead weaving encompass my artwork. Thank you to our kittens for watching me crochet quietly!
