freeform crochet was the blues and greys of the north sea.
After they were
stitched to canvas, the stitching became more of a fantasea.

Back to Nature
Buildings need maintainance, and will be reclaimed once they are abandoned. My piece was inspired by the tumbledown pigsty in my next door neighbour's cottage garden and includes crochet, surface crochet and embroidery.
Materials used are fine yarns, embroidery threads, fabric and felt.

I chose weather as my theme, with rust as an effect of weathering.
I found an amazing photo on Flickr, and used the colours in this as the basis for my piece.

My piece is based on the
sea off the east coast of England. More often than
not, when we visit, the sea is grey, but occasionally we see a flash
of blue or green.

Woodland Seasons
My
inspiration was a photograph of woodland fungi. Woodland Seasons developed to
show the new growth in spring, followed by the lush foliage of summer. Autumn
brings the falling leaves and fungi, and finally winter with frosts and snow.

A Bag for The Snow Queen
The bag is based on the costume worn by a friend in a local pantomime.
The base is a wet
felted bag made with merino fibre and covered with scrumbles, beaded dangles
and curlicues.
