Motifs are my galaxies

I could not understand well about the galaxies, and I could not think deeply about it....

Even so I do it...may be a motif and motifs!

 I've just finished my bag using many motifs.

Perhaps, my idea might be off the point in this time....

but I decided to send it to 2018 Challenge. 

Because, “participating is important”, I think so too!

Galaxy Necklace

When I started this year's Challenge, I thought to myself Galaxies are boring and how do you crochet either Galaxies or Weather?  To me those categories sounded extremely 'challenging' in themselves.  Then I did a search on the web for 'galaxies' and, oh my, I found out the Galaxies are not boring at all.  They are beautiful, colorful, bright and vivid!  Upon that discovery, I decided I had to make a galaxy. 

My necklace focal piece is made from crochet thread incorporating silver beads in it to represent the stars among the galaxy.  My necklace is made from beaded rope crochet and I incorporated random 'stars' among the black beads in the necklace allowing my Galaxy to be suspended in the universe among the stars.  

When looking at the beauty and the vastness of galaxies, I cannot help but see the hand of Master Creator who created the universe in them.

      Dimensions in our Lifetimes

Galaxies emerge in multiple distances
   within our discovery
   as starbursts in wonder.

Ancient and new,
   they evolve in varied hues and changing contours
   to reveal their existence in clusters of light.

Various dimensions
   present themselves in our lifetimes
   bright or subtle, nearer or far, hidden then visible.

Spiraling,
    they surround their centers
contained in moments of gravity and energy.

Wisps of stars in midnight blue
   capture us,
   and we find their arrays part of our destinies.

In a dark moon hemisphere of sky’s limits,
   we seek their elliptical essence
as portraits of a future in their transcendence.

Majesty of the Universe

First of all my piece is highly textured with various crochet stitches, applique and multiple fibers. 

I started with a baby blanket that I used as a foundation and used yarn and crocheted through the stitches of the blanket. 

I crocheted various shapes that I embellished with beads and thread. Some of the shapes were done with cord to make large shapes.

My concept for this piece was to paint my viewing of the night sky without using paint but fibers.
