Blue and Green SHALL be seen!

In the 1970’s color combinations were strictly regulated in some circles.  “Blue and green shall never be seen except with yellow in between.”  The EXPO 74 events were held in my hometown of Spokane Washington.
They voted on the colors for the event, and blue and green were chosen.
There was an uproar, because they didn’t include yellow!

In my shawl, green and blue are around, without any yellow to be found!
Is there any such rule for yellow and orange shall never be seen, except with red in between?

I based my shawl on a fun set of yarns from Schmutzerella Yarns that I purchased at the CGOA (Crochet Guild of America) National convention in Portland Oregon.  One of the colorways I used included was “Mrs. Peacock’s Demise”.  I got gradient shades of blues/greens.  Combined with other beautiful yarns of many fibers, the blues and greens blended perfectly!

When life seems hard and you can’t change your circumstances – you can change your attitude and put on a happy face.

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see
Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Brush off the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy
It's not your style
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
You decide to smile
And spread sunshine all over the place
And put on a happy face
Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on

This a combination of two songs as sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennett

The winds of change continue to blow...
Remembering phone calls ending in "I love you so".

Feeling joy when I see purple, teal, blue and lime green,
Or your favorite.... silver and aubergine.

I pray my tears you will pardon.
Rest peacefully my friend, in your forever shady garden.

In a nearby marshy lake, a wedge of swans has taken residence. It inspired me to listen to Swan Lake. As I listened I created swirls and spirals and circles of white with a spattering of black. Materials include mohair, merino wool, acrylic, silk, ribbons, novelties and cashmere.
