 IT STARTED WITH A DREAM

It started with a dream, a vision. A row of beach huts on the sand and the water down below.

Once I fixed on that, all the elements came together. Blues and greens and purples. Waving green sea grasses. Lacy waves lapping the shore. Starfish dancing on the ocean floor. A clear sky with a few feather-like clouds and stars in the heavens above.

All realised through crochet, machine embroidery and vintage beads and button.

Springtime brings flowers along a garden path, a time for my grandchildren, Emma, Eamonn and Calum, to play and read outside with their furry friends.

I have been a crafts-person all my life starting with doll dressmaking at about 3-4 years of age.

"Hidden Treasure"

Along with  the beautiful lengths of yarn I received were also embellishments, one lot resembled rough cut diamonds so I decided to make a piece and hide the "diamonds" in a garden. I made a flap in the corner and when it is lifted...voila... the hidden treasure is revealed!

"Bushfires in Australia"

From the remaining yarn I chose colours to resemble the bushfires which occur every summer in Australia, the flames leaping high into the canopies of tall gum trees in split seconds.
