The inspiration for this work are pictures of orbicular minerals
(see my pinterest board at https://nl.pinterest.com/addasenta/patterns-in-nature/ ).
Minerals are endlessly fascinating, beautiful, mysterious, ancient.
While experimenting with the patterns found in orbicular minerals I ended up using mostly single crochet stitches which give the work a pleasant rhythm but quite a different feel than more traditional freeform work.
The materials used are mainly cotton, some wool and two phantasy yarns.
