I decided to make a bowl to satisfy two challenges.  Freeform and Empty Bowls, a charity serving the hungry in Houston.  The bowls made by artists are auctioned.

I believe Mother Earth (Nature) is every artists first inspiration.  I wanted to pay homage to the basics: the richness of soil, darks, mediums and lights; the multi-colors of the compost that creates the soil but also represents the multitude of flora and fauna.  Green for grasses and leaves. And of course aqua for life giving/sustaining water. With streaks of gold for blessed sunshine!!!

Free-form crochet and textured fibers allow much freedom in expression!
