Faudina

Faudina is a creature who lives in tree hollows and can only hear music such as the chirping of the birds. 

Faudina has four eyes:

One to see beauty

One to see goodness

One to see evil and

One to see red flags

Faudina mostly keeps to herself but when she hears music, she dresses up and comes out to dance.

Meet Helga Weirdling! 

Helga is a water creature of great antiquity and vastly unknown origins. I really don’t know where she came from. 

The stitches, hooks and only my fingers decided what she would evolve into. I got to name her, though. Despite her mysterious past, she has become an important member of my freeform family. 

Helga's evolution includes earthly materials such as fingering weight and sport weight yarns in wool, nylon, alpaca, and cotton blends. 

Various crochet techniques and stitches were used as well as different hook sizes.

My Weirdlings family mirrors my own family of 3 weirdlings. 

I made the warm-toned one first and had so much fun I decided to make a couple more. 

That first one grew out of pieces in my rather large Bag of Experiments. I liked how the head worked out and had another one in purple, which gave rise to the second weirdling. The third little one is all new work. 

Can you identify their “genetic properties”?

These weirdlings love to roam outside in the garden beds.  

These are crocheted with my own handspun and filled with yarn scraps.

Blip

Blip is a house dweller who joined a happy band of 'Hoohahs'. Together, their sole mission in life is to find and rescue Dust-Bunnies and save them from that biggest of foes called the Mighty Vaccuum. 

Blip doesn't have any eyes, but uses his big blue nose to sniff out any dust-bunnies who need rescuing.

Scrumbles

Hello,  my name is Scrumbles. I have been born of love.

My origins are the crochet done by Reta Kell. Her crochet and craft supplies are honoured in me. 

Reta is now very loved in a Nursing Home in Queensland Australia.

She is unable to form my final life now, however I know I am so very much loved. 

I have been brought to life by her Daughter Veronica Smith.

Two happy little sistren squishes, one big and one small. When they catch up they giggle and laugh, then talk and talk and giggle some more! 

  

These two squish-lettes have the bestest of hugs, they make them all fuzzy, and warm their little hearts.

Name - Ephemera Amphora Gleaner 

  

Parentage - father was a pack rat, mother a magpie. 

  

Habitat - sleeps in a nest made from fabric and yarn scraps.  

  

Occupation - Huntress and Gatherer of misplaced, abandoned and broken things. Mixed media artist.  

  

Origin Story - 

Sadly, her mother flew the coop shortly after Ephemera was hatched. to pursue the next shiny new thing.  

Her father raised her alone, teaching her the ways of his people.  

She never quite fit in with them; she soon gave up trying.  

She left the nest as soon as she was able. There was really no room for her, anyway.  

Feeling out of place, no matter where she goes, she wanders the earth collecting other misplaced, abandoned and broken items.  

She remains hopeful that one day  she will meet another Weirdling, settle down and build a new life.
